Yes, my 15-year old Minolta is very happy with this borrowed Sony Alpha lens. If you're about to buy an older Minolta lens, check first its compatibility with your particular camera. Older lenses may not function well, as I discovered personally. One lens that I tested refused to autofocus on the Alpha, another makes a wrong exposure, and both worked perfectly with the Maxxum.

Vale a dica inversa para quem e dono de uma Sony Alpha: economize comprando lentes usadas da Minolta (ou Sigma do padrao Minolta). Mas teste sempre cada lente na sua maquina antes de fechar negocio, pois elas podem nao dar autofoco ou errar a exposicao. Duas lentes que eu testei deram esses problemas, mas so na Sony, funcionando na Maxxum perfeitamente.

Bought off a camera shop "junk" shelf for about $10.00, no lens. An excellent camera in perfect condition.
How do you know which model Minolta SR-1 it is? The visible clues are:
1. The pin is added to the shutter speed dial on model "B", 1960.
2. The meter mounting block is added on model "D", 1962.
3. Film counter moved from left to right side on model "E", 1963.
4. The location of the logo is moved to top facet of prism. Model "V", 1965.
The important change to the auto diaphragm system was made to model "C" in 1961. Earlier models have limited compatibility with later Auto-Rokkor lenses.
